近日，美國農業部對烏克蘭的葵花籽油產量前景給予樂觀的預測。2013/2014銷售年度，烏克蘭將生產葵花籽油402.3萬噸，超過先前預測84噸。報道稱，美國仍是目前世界上領先的農產品生產國和出口國，超過全球所有競爭對手。權威機構預測，今年美國葵花籽油出口量將繼續增加，將從360萬噸上升到368萬噸。另外，俄羅斯葵花籽油產量預計將達到326.9萬噸；歐盟將生產299.5萬噸，較先前預測上升11.2萬噸。據美國全國葵花籽協會（NSA）發布的統計數據顯示，2014年8月份，美國葵花籽壓榨量為44,171噸，高于7月份的33,350噸，也遠高于上年同期的22,877噸。2013/14年度（10月至次年9月）的頭11個月里，美國葵花籽壓榨量為432,058噸，低于上年同期的435,837噸。
