白剛玉以工業氧化鋁粉為原料，于電弧中經2000度以上高溫熔煉后冷卻制成，經粉碎，整形，磁選去鐵，篩分成多種粒度，其質地致密，硬度高，粒形成尖角狀，適用于制造陶瓷，樹脂固結磨具以及研磨，拋光，噴砂，精密鑄造(精鑄專用剛玉)等，還可用于制造高級耐火材料 。
 

      白剛玉是一種高檔耐火原材料，主晶相為α-Al2O3，色澤潔白。具有體積密度大、氣孔率低、體積穩定性和抗熱震性好等特點。適用于大型鑄鋼件，特別是合金鑄件型、芯面砂、涂料和熔模鑄造的制殼材料，同時可作為淬火鋼、合金鋼等半精磨，精磨磨料。白剛玉砂、粉在精密鑄造中是代替鋯英砂粉作為面層材料的最理想材料，用其加工的鑄件有良好的光潔度。白剛玉按照目數大小分類：白剛玉段砂、微粉、細粉、粒度砂。
 

      1、不影響加工件的顏色；
 
      2、可在嚴禁鐵粉殘留的制程使用來噴砂；
 
      3、微粉級非常適合濕式噴砂和研光作業；
 
      4、加工速度快、品質高；
 
      5、所含氧化鐵的量極低適合嚴禁鐵質殘留之噴砂作業；
 
      6、經過酸洗步驟以除雜質。
 

      白剛玉密度分為兩種，一是白剛玉堆積密度，二是白剛玉真密度。
 
      白剛玉堆積密度為：1.53~1.99g/cm3，磨料的堆積密度與磨料的粒度，粒度組成，品種，顆粒形狀等因素都有關，一般來說，粗粒度磨料比細粒度磨料堆積密度大，混合粒度磨料的堆積密度大于單一的粒度密度。
 
      白剛玉顆粒密度為：3.95~4.0g/cm3，精鑄專用剛玉真密度已達到4.1g/cm3，磨料的真密度是指單位體積（排除開氣孔的體積）內所含磨料的質量。

      白剛玉磨料適用于各種高端產品，工藝或者五金等產品表面美化處理，噴砂后表面潔白無任何雜質，免去清洗煩惱。細號白剛玉可用作拋光研磨之首，也可用做各種產品添加劑。白剛玉可做固及涂附磨具，濕式或干或噴射砂，適合晶體，電子行業的超精研磨和拋光及制做高級耐火材料等。白剛玉適合加工淬火鋼，合金鋼，高速鋼，高碳鋼等硬度較硬，抗張強度較大的材料。白剛玉還可用做觸媒體，絕緣體以及精密鑄造砂等。白剛玉用于鐵質工件去銹、除污、除氧化皮，增大鍍層、涂層附著力；鋁質工件去氧化皮，表面強化、光飾作用；銅質工件去氧化皮亞光效果、玻璃制品水晶磨砂、刻圖案塑膠制品亞光效果、牛仔布等特殊面料毛絨加工及效果圖案。
 


      1、表面加工：金屬氧化層，碳化物黑皮，金屬或非金屬表面污銹清除，如重力壓鑄模，橡膠模之氧化物或離形劑之去除，陶瓷表面黑點，鈾色去除，彩繪重生。  
 
      2、美化加工：各種黃金，K金飾品，貴金屬制品之消光或霧面處理，水晶，玻璃，波紋，壓克力等非金屬之霧面加工以及能使加工物表面成金屬光澤。  
 
      3、蝕刻加工：玉石，水晶，瑪瑙，半寶石，印章，雅石，古董，大理石墓碑，陶瓷，木材，竹片等之蝕刻美工。  
 
      4、前處理加工：鐵氟龍（TEFLON），PU，橡膠，塑料被覆，橡膠滾桶（ROLLER），電鍍，金屬噴焊，鍍鈦等之前處理，使表面附著力增加。 
  
      5、毛邊加工：電木，塑料，鋅，鋁壓鑄品，電子零件，磁芯等之毛邊去除，力消除加工處理。
