劃分等級棕剛玉主成分是氧化鋁，分等級也就用鋁含量來區(qū)分， 鋁含量越低也就硬度越低了。
產(chǎn)品粒度按國際標(biāo)準(zhǔn)以及各國標(biāo)準(zhǔn)生產(chǎn)，可按用戶要求粒度進(jìn)行加工。通用粒度號為 F4~F320，其化學(xué)成份視粒度大小而不同。突出的特點是晶體尺寸小耐沖擊，因用自磨機(jī) 加工破碎，顆粒多為球狀顆粒，表面干潔，易于結(jié)合劑結(jié)合。
